Matiu’s unique life path of growth driven learning and cultural immersion, a calling for music and leadership, mixed with a desire to engage and share with vastly varied communities, whilst holding passports to many alternative realms, have moulded Matiu into a man ready to stand and deliver–his way.

Looping live, Matiu's soulful roots music has a strong Maori flavor, using haka, chants and traditional Maori movements, backed by grabbing grooves, deep, beautifully crafted bass lines, funky rhythms and magical melodies that stay with you well after the show ends, all held up by a pillar of Pacific passion and top class technical precision.

Sacred Stance Through the Māori voice Workshop

This powerful workshop is adaptable for many groups and environments and can be run from 1-4 hours or even a weekend retreat. Indoors or outdoors, from teenagers onwards, from 10 to over 100 people, the results from this workshop are astounding.

Storytelling Workshop

This Interactive workshop for kids of all ages (everyone) has Matiu sharing ancient Maori Myths in his own unique and entertaining way. He invites participants to jump up and help act out the stories, and finishes each story with an inquiry to find hidden messages within the stories.

Maoritanga for Teachers of Children Workshop

After teaching kapahaka, Maori language and culture in all age ranges for over 25 years, Matiu has developed a concise, fun, full day workshop to help train teachers to gain confidence and proficiency to teach children in early childhood and primary school levels.
